The Olympic Council of Asia has not ruled out the participation of Russians in tournaments under the auspices of the organization in the future.

Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Randhir Singh said that in the future, Russian and Belarusian athletes will be able to compete under the auspices of the organization.

Previously, it became known that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not allow the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the 2023 Asian Games, which started on September 23. Initially, it was announced that they would be allowed to participate in the competition with neutral status and outside the medal count.

— I think Russia has a wider border with Asia than with Europe. This is why they [российским спортсменам] decide what they would like to do in the future,” he said, as quoted by Inside The Games.

At the end of March, the IOC announced recommendations for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions in neutral status. Recommendations include individual admission, banning participation in team sports, and banning participation by athletes associated with law enforcement or who have expressed support for the SVO.

The IOC did not send an invitation to the Russian Olympic Committee for the Summer Games in Paris on the set date of July 26.
