Olympic medalist in biathlon Irina Kazakevich told she doesn’t have a “secret recipe” for shooting zero.

At the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup stage in Sochi, Kazakevich won the sprint with three penalties; at the Russian Summer Championships, she had three relay penalties, but won gold as part of the Sverdlovsk region team.

— What does Irina Kazakevich need now to shoot zero?

– It’s a simple question, but I can’t clearly say that this is exactly what I’m going to do, and it will lead me to zero shots. This is a collection of certain points.

I can shoot freely. There are a few twists and turns, perhaps some doubts around the corner. When you shoot inconsistently in a race, it is naturally difficult to come and, for example, like Tamara Derbusheva, work with confidence. — Probably, if this recipe existed, you would have already used it.

– I think so. But I try different things. Now is the time to work even more closely on this, although this season we have worked a lot on weapons and shooting. For the first time in recent years, we started intensive training with weapons in May.

– How was it before?

— We happened to organize a training camp in Crimea without shooting. Now, since we’re not going there, we went specifically to the Raubichi Shooting Camp. We did a really good job filming this year.

Now, looking back, it’s a shame I couldn’t implement at least some of the developed parts. Well, there was a mistake in the sprint, but there is still no picture of what we did. This bothers me and, I think, Mikhail Viktorovich (Shashilov) too. He always tells me, even despite my mistakes, that I can shoot even better standing up than lying down. That is to say, when he shows the board during filming, it is clear that I photograph almost everything in a small “reference” circle. And when I get to the race and shoot standing up, it perplexes him.

He’s probably starting to get more into himself instead of me. The fact is that he made a mistake somewhere in my preparation. But of course, everything depends on me: I push, I pull. Therefore, the demand here mainly comes from me,” Kazakevich told .
