Biathlete Kazakevich – about a chance meeting with a young man at the airport: “I was in makeup, with a hairstyle, of course, I was simply unrecognizable”

Biathlete Irina Kazakevich in an interview with , she spoke about an unusual meeting with a young man at the airport and also admitted that her heart was free.

— Are you able to make friends with people outside the world of biathlon?

— Of course, I have more friends in biathlon. I have a friend who did biathlon and now she has a family. Even though we live in different cities, we try to write to each other as often as possible, and whenever possible, when I come to Omsk, I always try to see her. It turns out that I communicate with those who ran a long time ago.

— So, everyone is still a biathlete?

– Yes. The people around you who don’t come from biathlon backgrounds are the people you just met on the plane, in a cafe, on the train. We introduce ourselves, then: “Are you Irina Kazakevich?” (smiles). And I think: well, I did everything so that no one asked me who I was, so that no one would know anything (laughs).

I had such a story just when I was flying to this ball. I had my makeup on, my hair done of course, I was simply unrecognizable. And a young man helped me with my things, walked me to a taxi and asked if we could exchange numbers. I agreed, and he either saw a photo on my phone’s screensaver or something else, and asked me what I was doing. I asked, “What do you think?” » He guessed it was volleyball or something. I said: “No, biathlon,” and he replied: “Have you not participated in competitions in Ufa now? You haven’t started the relay? What are you, Irina Kazakevich?!” I was like, “Well, yeah.”

He asks: “Really? I said, “You don’t believe me? Maybe I should show you my passport? (Laughs). And I think: why? It was still just as good (smiles).

And it is mostly such fleeting acquaintances that happen, because one rarely goes anywhere, only for short periods between meetings. Or here is a manicure, you can talk to him (smile). That is, friends are essentially those who have already played or been closely associated with the sport, or casual acquaintances.

— Is Irina Kazakevich’s heart free now?

“I’m not actively looking, but my heart is free,” Kazakevich told .
