Double Olympic champion snowboarder Vic Sauvage told that he was ready to focus on winning the 2026 Olympics if he received support from the Russian Sports Ministry.
Earlier, Aftonbladet reported that the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) confirmed the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes for the 2023/24 season.
“I already knew about this decision. We will come back when we return. If the Russian Ministry of Sports supports me in this expectation, then I will be ready to win international competitions. Otherwise, I won’t prepare. I am 37 years old, I have dedicated my life to sporting success, I have achieved everything, despite a large number of problems. Now I just want to get support so I can focus on winning the Games in Milan,” Wild told .
By decision of the FIS, Russian and Belarusian athletes have been suspended from international competitions since March 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
