Assistant to the President of Russia Igor Levitin spoke about the need for a careful approach to the domestic sports equipment production industry, and also noted that the state continues to cooperate in this industry with the Eurasian market.
Levitin presented a report at a meeting of the working group responsible for preparing documents for the Council of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of physical culture and sports on the development and equipment of sports infrastructure.
— It is important to analyze what the sports industry can obtain from the national industry. The health of athletes directly depends on the quality of equipment and inventory. The key to this problem is therefore the safety of organizing training and sporting events using Russian equipment. We will continue to interact with other countries with which we have established links, to use not only the Russian market, but also that of Eurasia. Various areas of the sports industry – from courses to elite sports – are a platform for business development, – said Igor Levitin, quoted by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
Sverdlovsk Region Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev said infrastructure development is an important aspect of achieving the national goal of increasing the proportion of citizens systematically involved in sport to 70% by 2030.
— In the conditions of the sanctions, the solution of this problem is of particular importance. Today we are witnessing a high level of import dependency in sport, but this, in turn, determines new growth points for sport and the industry. It is important to use the experience of friendly countries in the construction of infrastructure and the production of their own inventory, equipment and equipment. Within the framework of the working group, we will discuss the development of production standards, which should be higher than international standards,” Kuyvashev said.
First Deputy Minister of Sports Azat Kadyrov stressed that support for the development of sports infrastructure, production of sports products and scientific and technical activities are priority areas of the strategy for the development of physical culture and sports until ‘in 2030.
