Prize money for participants in the club tournament between biathletes has become known

President of the Moscow Region Biathlon Federation Alexei Nuzhdov spoke on about the format and prize pool of the club tournament between biathletes.

The tournament can take place a week before the Alfa-Bank Russian Biathlon Cup, the first stage of which begins on November 23 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

— What will be the format of the tournament?

— We tried to start from the fact that it would be spectacular, “shown on television”. Megamass start of 60 people, and as a result there will be a chase race.

We are at the start of a difficult, complex and ambiguous path. We have few supporters on the international scene, so we decided to follow the path of minimal bureaucracy, remove all obstacles and make everything accessible.

We have two clubs: the Belarusian club and the Moscow region biathlon club. We are doing an open tournament. We invite everyone to participate. Whatever name you call yourself at this point is what you will call your name.

– Where does the money come from?

— The money is mine at this point, but we expect the business tournament to bear fruit. The structure must make money. Nothing happens quickly. At first I’m risking my own money, but I’m willing to lose it just to get started. Then we have the TV rights, but that’s pretty hypothetical money, and we’re going to try to sell advertising time for the funds that will allow us to recoup it.

The first 6 will be rewarded. From 500,000, then 250 and up to fifty dollars.

The head of the RRF, Viktor Maigurov, said that he was only happy that the one who lends his shoulder is already our supporter.

Skiers? We will also welcome skiers, particularly those in the media and with titles. In the future, we will create new formats,” Nuzhdov said on the air of the “Loud” show.

Russian and Belarusian biathletes have been suspended from competitions under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
