Julia Jima joined the team
Head coach of the Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Alexander Kravchenko spoke about the plans to prepare the team for the new season. According to him, from August 15, the team will be preparing directly for the performance at the summer world championship.
“Julia Jima has already joined us in Obertilliach. Now we have 5 girls: besides her, Elena Belosyuk, Anastasia Merkushina, Irina Petrenko and Anna Krivonos. Our task for this collection is to increase the lower and upper “aerobes”. That is, the base will be laid for the entire season, which will avoid failures. It will be mountain training. We will be in Austria until 19 July.”
“After Obertilliach, we will return to Ukraine, and then on July 28 we will go to the German Oberhof, where the guys are now. There will be both ski training and rollerblading. And then from August 15 we will move to Ruhpolding and we will prepare for the summer world championship.”
“We have a rolling-in with the men’s team planned in different places. They will be in Beitostolen, Norway, and we will be in Idra, Sweden. This is exactly. The only thing is that perhaps in October we will be together in the Austrian Ramsau.
“Team B” is now in Ukraine. I know that the women’s team will start training camp in Syanki on July 6. The head coach Igor Yashchenko is there, we are constantly in touch with them.”
Recall that Daria Blashko will be preparing for the new biathlon season as part of the men’s national team of Ukraine under the leadership of Juraj Sanitra.
The upcoming season will consist of nine stages and the World Championship in Oberhof, Germany. The opening of the 2022/23 season will take place in Kontiolahti (Finland) from November 27 to December 4. The last stage of the 2020/21 World Cup will take place in Holmenkollen, Norway from 16 to 19 March.
