The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the three-time Olympic champion in biathlon and cross-country skiing Anfisa Reztsova .
Reztsova died on October 19 at the age of 58.
“The Russian Olympic Committee expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the athlete, as well as to the entire sports community of Russia,” the ROC statement said.
Reztsova won gold and silver in cross-country skiing at the 1988 Olympics and also won three world championships. In biathlon, the athlete won gold at the 1992 (sprint) and 1994 (relay) Games, and also became a silver medalist at the world championships.
