Double Olympic champion Sergei Chepikov declared that death Anfisa Reztsova became a big loss for Russian biathlon.
Reztsova died on October 19 at the age of 58.
“I have known Anfisa for a very long time. We were on the national biathlon team together. She always amazed everyone with her energy and good humor and was the soul of the team. She had enormous talent in biathlon. I express my condolences to all the family and friends. This is a big loss for Russian biathlon,” Chepikov told RT.
Reztsova won gold and silver in cross-country skiing at the 1988 Olympics and also won three world championships. In biathlon, the athlete won gold at the 1992 (sprint) and 1994 (relay) Games, and also became a silver medalist at the world championships.
