The Russian Biathlon Union (SBR) confirmed that the funeral of the three-time Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova will take place on Tuesday, October 24, the ceremony will begin at 10:00 Moscow time.
The farewell will take place in the Great Ritual Hall of the Troekurovsky Cemetery in Moscow. The famous biathlete and skier will be buried in Athletes’ Alley.
Anfisa Reztsova won gold and silver in cross-country skiing at the 1988 Olympics and also won three world championships. In biathlon, the athlete won gold at the 1992 (sprint) and 1994 (relay) Games, and also became a silver medalist at the world championships.
Reztsova died on October 19 at the age of 58.
