— The Ultrasprint in Aldan is a combination of ski sprint and biathlon. Sprinting is, in my opinion, the most spectacular discipline in cross-country skiing. I think it will be a very interesting competition. There will first be a prologue, then semi-finals and finals according to the principle of skiing. There won’t be many participants, so we’ll start with the semi-finals. A lap is 630 meters, in a race there are three laps with two shooting ranges: lying and standing.
All healthy people from the Russian team will participate in the competition: 10-11 people. And several local athletes: 6 to 7 people. There will be fewer participants in women’s competitions.
We have already tried this format during control training, but now we have decided to organize a full-fledged competition. There is a classic 10-kilometer sprint, a supersprint is a different discipline, so we decided to call this distance an ultrasprint, ”Kaminsky told .
