The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has extended the decision banning Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization, FIS board member Erik Röste said.
The FIS Council meeting took place on Wednesday.
— The meeting is over. (According to the participation of Russians and Belarusians) no change. The decision taken last year remains in force, Röste said according to NRK.
Russians and Belarusians have been suspended from FIS competitions since March 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
At the end of March this year, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced recommendations for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions. Recommendations include individual admission, neutral status, banning participation in team sports, and banning the participation of athletes associated with security forces or who have expressed support for the SVO.
