Among women, local biathlete Regina Petrova became the first. Larisa Kuklina made two errors in second place and Kristina Pavlushina finished third.
The athletes ran a distance of 1900 meters with two shooting stages in three stages: prologue, semi-final with elimination and final. Six athletes qualified for the deciding round.
The coach of the Russian national biathlon team, Yuri Kaminsky, told that about 10 athletes from the national team, as well as 6-7 biathletes from Yakutia, will take part in the competition.
