Dmitry, if the recovery continues to go according to plan, plans to return to duty in early December
Ukrainian biathlete Dmitry Pidruchny shared information about how his recovery from injury and preparation for the soon-to-start World Cup 2023/24.
“Now I’m almost fully training. My arm has recovered 80 percent, and I’m starting to put some strain on it. I think that in the near future I will be able to train fully without any restrictions.”
“I was now at the training camp in Syanki, training according to my plan under the supervision of [тренера сборной] Yuraya Sanitra. In principle, everything went well at this training camp. In a few days I’m going to Obertilach in Austria for the first snow, I’ll train there. Later our junior team should join there. I hope I’ll be able to train fully there.”
“According to the plan that we agreed with the management and Juraj, I should join the team on December 4 in Hochfilzen, Austria for the second stage of the World Cup. I hope we stick to this plan.”
“Our team is very strong now, the young people have improved very well. The juniors are growing up very strong. The Summer World Championship showed that we have very great prospects in the men’s team.”
“Taras Lesyuk has added a lot this season – we saw how he performed at the summer World Championships. I think that the fight for a place in the team will be difficult for me too. I believe that in the Nations Cup the team will be able to show even better results than before. The main thing is that everyone is healthy and everything is good in the team’s disposition.”
Let us remind you that Dmitry Pidruchny broke his arm when he fell from a bicycle during training in August. Dmitry missed the 2023 Summer World Championships due to injury. At this tournament, which took place in August in Brezno-Osrbli, Slovakia, Ukrainian Taras Lesyuk won the gold medal in the mass start.
Pidruchny previously said that he plans to return to the second or third stage of the World Cup, but did not rule out a later return.
