Julia, who recovered from the disease, will prepare for the second stage in Hochfilzen
Leading Ukrainian biathlete Julia Jimamost likely, will not take part in the first stage World Cupwhich will take place in Sweden Ostersund.
The reason is the illness that Julia suffered during the preparatory training in Oberhof, Germany. According to the biathlete’s coach, Slovenian Uros Velepec, treatment and recovery will take time and effort, so it was decided to skip the first stage of the 2023/24 World Cup.
Jim will be preparing for the second stage in Hochfilzen, Austria, which starts on December 8. Most likely, Dmitry Pidruchny, who is recovering from a broken arm, will also be ready for this stage.
It is planned that Jim, in agreement with the head coach of the Ukrainian men’s biathlon team Juraj Sanitra, will prepare for the Austrian competitions together with Dmitry.
However, Velepets leaves the possibility that Yulia will participate in Östersund (in the mixed and women’s relays) if she gets in shape faster than expected and feels good by mid-November.
The 2023/24 Biathlon World Cup starts in Ostersund, Sweden on November 25. By the end of this year, stages will also take place in Hochfilzen and Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
