The first MLKB Cup will take place on November 18 and 19 in Khanty-Mansiysk. Russian and Belarusian biathletes will take part in the races. For victory, athletes will receive 1 million rubles. Chinese athletes abandoned their tournament bid at the last minute due to pressure from the IBU.
— You said earlier that the next Cup could take place after the Russian Cup stage in Ufa in December. Are you considering this option because there will be a period without starting?
— Ufa is one of the options where we can hold the next MLKB Cup. There will be a delay required – yes. Why should I speak with caution, because there are many nuances. If we want to achieve this, there must be television – without it, there is no point. If television is involved, all schedules should be discussed further in advance. The plans of all athletes must also be taken into account: for example, training camps are not against, but they already have a training camp planned. There are a lot of nuances. But as always, at the start of any project, not everyone is allied, I wouldn’t say that there are many opponents, it’s just that everything new is perceived with caution,” said Nuzhdov told .
