The International Bandy Federation (FIB) has announced the cancellation of the men’s and women’s world championships in 2024, due to a lack of will to organize tournaments.
— The World Championships between men’s and women’s national teams will not take place in 2024. The clubs and national associations which had shown interest in organizing tournaments then decided to abandon the idea. For this reason, the FIB does not have tournament organizers in 2024. The FIB is focused on organizing the world championships in 2025. The executive committee will meet next week, the statement said.
Sweden won gold at the men’s and women’s world championships in 2023. Russian teams were not allowed to participate in the tournaments due to the situation in Ukraine.
