Biathlete Kristina Reztsova: “My husband’s father left his job for my result”

Double Olympic medalist Christina Reztsova told that the parents of her husband Ivan Anisimov helped her a lot in raising their children when she went to training, noting that her husband’s father even left his job for the sake of the biathlete.

Reztsova missed the 2022/23 season due to the birth of her second daughter.

— Do Vanya’s parents accompany you to all training camps?

– Yes, yes, we are all here together now: the girls, me, Vanya and her parents. I want to say a huge thank you to them, they do a very good job. If previously only my grandmother traveled with us, now my grandfather has completely adapted to everything. Their help is simply invaluable. If they weren’t there, I wouldn’t be able to leave permanently. Vanya and I agreed that we would all go together. No other options were discussed. At least while I feed Polina, and it’s been a year more or less, we will all travel together. I don’t know what will happen next, but we will try to travel together, especially since in Russia everyone has the opportunity to travel. By the way, Grandpa quit his job for us.

– Seriously?

– Yes (laughs). Grandma hasn’t stopped yet, but she’s taken all her vacation time. We had initially planned for teamwork, where everyone understands the area of responsibility and does their best for my result, even if it is said very loudly. But it’s true. If someone’s efforts were not enough, I would hardly be here,” Reztsova told .

Reztsova will start the women’s mass start of the PARI Cup of the International Club Biathlon League on Saturday. Watch the live broadcast of the race from 11:20 a.m. on the channel.
