Biathlete Reztsova: “This season I want to understand how much strength I have after having children”

Double Olympic medalist in biathlon Christina Reztsova in an interview with , she said that she is not setting a goal to win medals in the new season, as she is just getting in shape.

The biathlete’s eldest daughter was born in February 2021, the youngest in March 2023. Reztsova won the silver and bronze medals in the classic and mixed relay races, respectively, at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.

— Do you want to surpass your own results that you posted before the birth of your second child?

— To surpass them, you have to return to the international scene (laughs). Of course, I want to grow to where I arrived. I am no longer interested in places, but in qualities: growing in the same shot that I did not achieve during the Olympic season, technically and in many other ways. I want to reach the starting point of the Olympic season and go higher from there. I think it won’t be this season, but next.

It would be loud to say that this season will pass, but it is to feel and understand how much reserve I have after the birth of children. The second delivery and the pregnancy itself were a little more difficult, hence the injuries. This all adds up to the fact that I’ve only just gotten back into shape. Let’s see how much health I have, how much patience I have (laughs). But as long as we have the strength and motivation, we will continue to run! – Reztsova told .
