“All the girls are in good shape now, so it’s difficult to fight” – biathlete Kaplina about bronze in the mass start of the MLCB Cup

Russian biathlete Elizaveta Kaplina said that all athletes are in very good shape at the start of the new biathlon season.

On Saturday, Kaplina took third place in the mass start of the PARI Cup of the International Club Biathlon League (MLKB) in Khanty-Mansiysk. Anastasia Goreeva won the race, Belarusian Anna Sola came second. Kaplina received 250,000 rubles for bronze.

“We worked from the first round, we didn’t wait for anyone. So the three of us reached the finish line. It was in my head that I had to shoot the first round cleanly, so that I could then build pace for two rounds. The three of us ran farther and farther with each meter. This gave me confidence during filming. But I was wrong twice. On the last shot, I hesitated and made a mistake. Good fight at the start of the season, everyone is motivated. It was cool!

On the last lap they told me Sola was nearby. I couldn’t get close to them, everyone began to drown out the last circle. I started to get a little tired. All the girls are now ‘on their feet’, so it’s difficult to fight,” Kaplina said on .

The first MLKB Cup will take place on November 18 and 19. Russian and Belarusian biathletes take part in the races. The winner of each of the four races receives one million rubles.

Pursuit races will take place on Sunday as part of the MLCB, watch live broadcasts at 9:05 and 11:20 on the channel.
