On Saturday, Kaplina took third place in the mass start of the PARI Cup of the International Club Biathlon League (MLKB) in Khanty-Mansiysk. Anastasia Goreeva won the race, Belarusian Anna Sola came second. Kaplina received 250,000 rubles for bronze.
“We worked from the first round, we didn’t wait for anyone. So the three of us reached the finish line. It was in my head that I had to shoot the first round cleanly, so that I could then build pace for two rounds. The three of us ran farther and farther with each meter. The first MLKB Cup will take place on November 18 and 19. Russian and Belarusian biathletes take part in the races. The winner of each of the four races receives one million rubles.
