“In terms of organization, the International Club Biathlon League Cup was held at the highest level” – Kristina Reztsova

Double Olympic medalist Christina Reztsova told that the first PARI Cup of the International Club Biathlon League (MLCB) was held at the highest level in terms of organization and that prize money played an important role in attracting athletes.

The competition took place this weekend in Khanty-Mansiysk. Reztsova finished 10th in the mass start and third in the pursuit. For the bronze medal in pursuit she received 250,000 rubles.

— What impression did the MLB Cup leave on you?

— It seems to me that there was little excitement before the tournament. Maybe we should have reported this a little earlier. Organizationally, everything was worthwhile, everything was at the highest level. In Khanty-Mansiysk there are rarely organizational problems. The prize money also played a role in the arrival of the athletes, so people came here full of energy. If this continues, it’s a good incentive to show up.

— What would you say to those who refused and didn’t go?

– It’s everyone’s choice. I understand that some are preparing for the main competitions, some have more important plans for the Russian Cup or the Russian Championship, so there is no such thing there. When I came here, my goal was not to make money. This was just the beginning of training, others probably haven’t done it. Everyone decides for themselves which races to start with,” Reztsova told .

The founders of the International Club Biathlon League were the regional biathlon club of the Moscow region and the Belarusian biathlon club.
