Senior coach of the Russian men’s biathlon team Yuri Kaminsky explained why not all the athletes in his group participated in the PARI Cup of the International Club Biathlon League (MLCB).
The first MLCB Cup took place on November 18-19 in Khanty-Mansiysk. Russian and Belarusian biathletes took part in the races. Karim Khalili won the men’s mass start, Anastasia Goreeva became the best in the same discipline among women, and Belarusians Anton Smolsky and Anna Sola became the first in the pursuit race. For winning the tournament, each of them received a million rubles.
“I simply did not recommend some people to participate: they were not yet ready, it was better to “sit” at Seminsky Pass. There were no problems coordinating the athletes’ participation with the RBU. We made a decision based on our preparation concept: if I had known in advance, we would have adapted. Now we had to rearrange the schedule, but for some it was possible, but for others it was not. Some went, some didn’t,” Kaminsky told .
All races of the PARI MLCB Cup stage in Khanty-Mansiysk were broadcast live on the channel, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
