Biathlete Elizaveta Kaplina told that participation in the first International Club Biathlon League (MLCB) Cup will not interfere with the physical fitness and results of the official season.
Kaplina became third in the mass start and second in the pursuit race at the tournament in Khanty-Mansiysk. Thanks to the competition, she won 750,000 rubles. Mikhail Shachilov’s group did not come to the tournament, but held a training camp in Tyumen.
— Is the absence of the Shachilov group a plus for being included in the prices?
– No, we worked with great enthusiasm and zeal, despite this: everyone started happily from the beginning and continued. I’m happy with my result, a plus four: last season’s filming was average, so now I’m going to correct this minus.
— Not all athletes had an unambiguous attitude towards these competitions, since the tournament could interfere with preparation for the official season. But how really?
– It seems to me that it won’t do any harm. If we talk about foreign biathletes, they have started to take off, they are already organizing national tournaments before the World Cup. So we are not lagging behind either. These starts can be described as acceleration, but they took place at a very high level. Everything took place in comfortable conditions, where you could see who was ready for what at the moment,” Kaplina told .
