Zots: Prospects for Bilosyuk? As soon as there is a decent performance, we will be able to see her at the World Cup

According to the senior coach of the women’s team, Elena will help four juniors with her experience at the IBU Cup

Senior coach Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Nikolay Zots commented on the prospects of the experienced Elena Bilosyukwhich will start the season on IBU Cup.

“Today we must understand that we have a young team going to the IBU Cup. For the first stage, juniors Ksenia Prikhodko, Alexandra Merkushina, Elena Gorodnaya and Yulia Gorodnaya. Four juniors, and Elena Belosyuk will help with their experience.”

“Prospects for Bilosyuk? Every start, like now, in Kontiolahti, as soon as there is a decent performance, we will be able to see her at the World Cup.”

Let us remind you that 36-year-old Bilosyuk, together with four young partners, was named to the Ukrainian national team for the first stage of the IBU Cup, which will take place on November 30 in Kontiolahti, Finland.

Earlier, Zots announced a “vector for rejuvenation of the team,” due to which Bilosyuk was not included in the main roster of the Ukrainian national team for the summer Biathlon World Championships in Brezno-Osrbly, Slovakia.

Elena, like Yulia Jima, will not be part of the national team at the first stage of the 2023/24 World Cup in Ostersund, Sweden. At the same time, Yulia, who is recovering from an injury, is preparing to start the second stage in Hochfilzen, Austria.

In 2014, Bilosyuk became an Olympic champion in the relay as part of the Ukrainian national team. In addition, Elena is the 2012 world champion and five-time European champion.
