Four-time Olympic champion, former president of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR) Alexander Tikhonov told that he attended two court hearings in the case of the ex-head of the Sports Training Center of Russian National Teams (TSSP) Alexandra Kravtsova and I have not heard a single indictment.
The prosecutor’s office demanded 10 years in prison and a fine for Kravtsov in the embezzlement case. The prosecutor also requested that Kravtsov be banned from serving as director for three years and that the other defendants in the case be sentenced to eight years in prison. The verdict will be announced on November 30.
“I’ve been to two hearings on this case and I haven’t heard any indictments, there just aren’t any. So, at one of the meetings, a prosecution witness generally stated that Kravtsov was an honest person. I read this case from start to finish, there is nothing there. Kravtsov is a competent and honest person. They wanted to expel him and they expelled him,” Tikhonov told .
Kravtsov was arrested in September 2020. According to investigators, between May 2014 and July 2017, he hired several people in different positions at the Social Security Center, but the employees, although they received a salary, did not actually work. The amount of damage caused by Kravtsov’s actions is estimated at 14.45 million rubles.
Kravtsov headed the Central SP from 2009 to 2020 and was chairman of the SBR from 2014 to 2018.
