A series of team prologues will be held before the stages of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup and other biathlon competitions in the new season, according to the official website of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR).
— The prologue is a pre-departure competition that will be held before the main program of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, Alfa-Bank Russian Championship and Alfa-Bank Russian Cup competitions in eight cities of the country. The competitions will take place in ski sprint (100 m) or shooting duels separately between men and women.
At any given time, competitions will only take place in one type of program – either ski sprint or dueling shooting. At the same time, the 100-meter ski race will, if possible, be organized not at the biathlon stadium, but in the city itself. The races/shootings will take place according to the Olympic system (quarter-finals, semi-finals, repechage finals, finals), and the drawing of participants will take place at a press conference on the day of official training, specifies the message.
Four teams will participate in the competition.
“Children of Alexander Pak”: Natalya Gerbulova (captain), Anastasia Grishina, Ksenia Dovgaya, Ekaterina Noskova, Evgeniy Emerkhonov, Roman Eremin, Alexander Kornev, Daniil Serohvostov.
“The kings of quiet hours”: Alexander Loginov (captain), Anton Babikov, Mikhail Burundukov, Alexander Povarnitsyn, Anna Grukhvina, Kristina Reztsova, Victoria Slivko, Ksenia Shneider.
“Chuck-Chuck Norris”: Eduard Latypov (captain), Dmitry Ivanov, Pyotr Pashchenko, Vasily Tomshin, Anastasia Batmanova, Lyubov Kalinina, Elizaveta Kaplina, Polina Shevnina.
“A right”: Irina Kazakevich, Tamara Derbusheva, Anastasia Shevchenko, Natalia Shevchenko, Karim Khalili, Kirill Bazhin, Denis Irodov, Victor Plitsev.
The first stage of the ski sprint prologue will take place on November 28.
It is worth noting that for the first, second and third place at a separate stage, the winners receive 50,000 rubles, 40,000 and 30,000 rubles, respectively. Based on the results of the team competition at the end of the season, the winning team will receive 1,000,000 rubles.
On Saturday, at the first stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, a single mixed relay will take place, and on Sunday a mixed relay will take place. Watch live broadcasts of both starts at 9:35 a.m. (Moscow time) on the channel.
