Ukraine took tenth place in single mixed doubles in Östersund
Ukrainian biathlete Artem Tishchenko commented on his performance in the single mixed relay at the first stage Biathlon World Cup 2024/24 in Östersund, Sweden.
“I felt pretty good on the track: whoever ran next to me, I stayed with him. I didn’t shoot as fast as I can during shooting. One spare cartridge – I think that’s pretty good for four shots. The skis worked well, I’m happy. And so, in principle, I thought it would be cold, but it was comfortable in the race.”
“I was looking forward to these races, I wanted to test myself against other strong athletes. This is only the first race, it’s short, it’s so unique. We will wait for the next starts to show how ready we are. I’m getting ready for the individual race.”
The Ukrainian national team, for which Artem Tishchenko and Anastasia Merkushina played, took tenth place in the single mixed doubles. The race was won by the Swedish team, with Norway and France rounding out the top three.
The competition in Östersund will continue with the classic mixed relay. The race starts at 15:50.
