Biathlete Anna Grukhvina said that she liked the format of pre-start competitions at the stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, although it was unusual for her to go to the start of the distance of 100 meters.
Grukhvina became the winner of the first stage of the ski sprint prologue on Tuesday. This year, the athlete changed sports, moving from skiing to biathlon.
— The start of the race itself is a bit unusual, because in a normal sprint we start from the gates, but here it’s a bit different – unusual. In the semi-finals, I completely slept until the beginning, but overall the format was very cool and I really enjoyed participating in it, ”reports the correspondent of , according to Grukvina’s words.
The prologue is a pre-departure competition organized by the SBR before the main competition program of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, Championship and Cup of Russia in eight cities of the country. The biathletes compete in four teams. At each individual stage, the winners of the competition receive 50, 40 and 30 thousand rubles and points for ranking, respectively. The winning team will receive 1 million rubles at the end of the season.
The next prologue will take place on December 5-6 in Tyumen in the ski sprint format, then shooting duels are planned in Ufa (December 12/13).
