French biathlete Lou Jeanmonnot won the sprint race at the first stage of the World Cup in Ostersund, Sweden.
Jeanmonnot made no mistakes at the shooting range and covered the 7.5 km in 21 minutes 4.1 seconds. Norwegian Caroline Knotten won silver (1 miss; +8.5 seconds), bronze – her compatriot Juni Arnekleive (1 miss; +17.6 seconds).
The men’s sprint will take place on Saturday in Östersund. The World Cup in Sweden ends on Sunday.
