Kachanova about the new record at the Chelyabinsk ice rink: “It belonged to Nesbitt, but I want to run even faster”

Medalist at the World Speed Skating Championships Daria Kachanova said that she was happy to update the records at the Chelyabinsk ice rink, but expected faster seconds from herself.

Kachanova became the absolute winner of the Russian Cup stage in Chelyabinsk, after which medals were awarded in the all-around sprint competition. She updated the Ural Lightning rink record for a distance of 1000 meters and the sum of four distances.

— I think the course turned out to be relatively good for this period.

– The records were stolen!

— In the 1000 m, the record was that of Christine Nesbitt, in the all-around it was mine. I am happy with the record amount, because it far exceeds the previous one. I think it’s not bad. At 1000 meters, as always, I want faster seconds, but until yesterday I didn’t even think about the ice rink record – this is Chelyabinsk, it’s not clear what kind of ice it is. The 1000m record has existed since 2011, which says a lot. Now the quality of the ice is better than when I set that all-around sprint record, and my condition is better. Everything worked so well that it was possible to update it.

— At the Spartakiad of the Strongest, would you like to update the 1000m record again?

“It is difficult to say whether this will be possible.” Everything will depend on my condition at the time and the quality of the ice cream. There are too many factors that can affect the result,” Kachanova told .
