“It’s like it was a long time ago and not at home” – Tsvetkov about victory over the Norwegian team in the relay race at the World Cup

Biathlete Maxim Tsvetkov told that he still fondly remembers the Russian men’s team’s relay victory at the World Cup in Ruhpolding in 2022.

The Norwegian team won first place in the men’s relay at the World Cup in Östersund on Thursday. The Norwegians won this discipline for the eighth consecutive time. The last time they were left without a gold medal was in Ruhpolding in the 2021/22 season, when the Russian team of Karim Khalili, Daniil Serohvostov, Alexander Loginov and Maxim Tsvetkov won the gold.

—How do you remember that time?

– As if it was a long time ago and not our place. It was so long ago that I don’t even know what to say. I remember with nostalgia pleasant emotions, because I ran and competed with them. But I feel like it was a long time ago.

— Will the Russian team break this streak when they return?

“I hope so,” Tsvetkov told .

Pursuit races will take place on Saturday during the second stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup. The broadcast of the men’s pursuit race will begin at 09:35 (Moscow time) and that of the women’s pursuit at 12:50 (Moscow time). Watch live broadcasts on the channel, matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
