“I didn’t approach the last shot at my own pace, my pulse was high” – biathlete Sidorov about his missed medal in pursuit

Biathlete Yevgeny Sidorov told that three misses on the last shot during the pursuit race of the Russian Cup stage in Khanty-Mansiysk were due to an incorrect approach to the line.

Sidorov became eighth on Saturday in the men’s pursuit, losing 1 minute and 19 seconds to winner Kirill Bazhin. Bazhin, Sidorov and Alexander Loginov approached the fourth shot at the same time.

“I wasn’t worried during the last shoot, I just didn’t pace myself – my pulse was very high. I should have approached a little more calmly. I only calmed down towards the end shooting, when I had already hit two targets. Kirill shot very quickly, I also wanted to shoot quickly, but I made a mistake. Yesterday everything was fine, I thought I could also shoot all zeros, it was also a mistake. We were thinking about it,” Sidorov told .

Later on Friday, the women’s pursuit race will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk. Live broadcast on the channel will begin at 13:00 (Moscow time).
