Elena started the season at the IBU Cup
Biathlete Elena Gorodnaya will be part of Ukrainian national team to the second stage of the 2023/24 World Cup in Austria Hochfilzen. The head coach of the women’s team, Nikolai Zots, spoke about this.
Gorodnaya started the season at the IBU Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland. In the individual race, Elena took 29th place, and then became 32nd in the sprint. In both cases, Gorodnaya was the best among Ukrainians.
Elena will become the sixth alternate biathlete on the team in Hochfilzen. Earlier, Nikolai Zots said that Lyubov Kipyachenkova and Daria Blashko would go to the UBI Cup. At the same time, Julia Jima, who was recovering from an injury, will return to the main team.

The stage in Hochfilzen will take place from 8 to 10 December. The program includes three types of races: sprint, pursuit and relay.
