The top three winners were Norway, Sweden and France
Ukrainian national team took ninth place in the mixed relay at the first stage of the IBU Cup in Kontiolahti, Finland.
The blue-yellows were represented by Elena Gorodnaya, Alexandra Merkushina, Vitaly Mandzyn and Ruslan Tkalenko. At the end of four stages, Ukraine finished six minutes after the winners with one penalty loop and 10 additional rounds.
The race was won by the Norwegian team, which used only six additional rounds and did without penalties. Sweden and France rounded out the top three.
Earlier, the head coach of the Ukrainian women’s national team Nikolai Zots said that Elena Gorodnaya will go to the second stage of the 2023/24 World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria, along with the main team. The next stage of the IBU Cup will feature Lyubov Kipyachenkova and Daria Blashko.
