Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonneau won the pursuit race in the first stage World Cup 2023/24 biathlon in Ostersund, Sweden.
The athlete from France completed the entire distance without penalty laps. Lu scored a golden double at the stage in Östersund. Earlier, Jeanmono won the sprint race.
The German Franziska Preuss, who had one penalty lap, managed to catch up with the Frenchwoman on the last lap, but at the finish Lu retained more strength for the victory. Vanessa Voigt from Germany took third place.
The only Ukrainian in the pursuit race, Anastasia Merkushina, took 41st place. Let us remind you that in the sprint Anastasia became 48th. Kristina Dmitrenko, who also qualified for the pursuit race, did not start.
The men’s pursuit race will take place at the Östersund stage. Starts at 17:00 Kyiv time.
