Executive Director of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Alexander Pak told that the decision to hold prologues before the stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Tyumen will be made on Monday after discussions with the team captains.
The prologue is a pre-departure competition, organized for the first time by the SBR before the main competition program of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, Championship and Cup of Russia in eight cities of the country. The first stage took place on November 28 in Khanty-Mansiysk, biathletes competed without rifles in the 100-meter ski event with elimination. “Tonight we will talk with the team captains. Let me remind you that we do everything of our own free will, so we will conduct a dialogue about what we will or will not have. Time whispers. Of course, we won’t force anyone to shoot or run in the cold.
— Since the Russian Cup sprints have been moved from Saturday to Wednesday, is there Thursday or Friday left?
— Most likely, it could be Thursday, because on Friday and Saturday, according to forecasts, maximum severity is expected. If we think about it, it will be Thursday,” Pak told .
Initially, the prologue in Tyumen was scheduled for December 5-6, but on Sunday the SBR press service reported that the sprint races of the main competitions in Tyumen were postponed to December 9-6 due to weather conditions.
