“The SBR prologue format is cool, but not everyone wants to do speed work before the main races” – Serokhvostov

Biathlete Daniel Serokhvostov told that the format of prologues before the main starts of the Russian Cup and the Commonwealth Cup is interesting, but not all athletes want to do high-speed work in conditions of frequent competitions.

The Prologue is a pre-start competition organized for the first time by the SBR before the main program of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, Championship and Russian Cup competitions. The first competitions took place on November 28 in Khanty-Mansiysk; the tournament in Tyumen was canceled due to severe frosts.

— How do you find this format before the stage?

— It’s actually a cool show, but it seems to me that this whole thing should have been done earlier, and not before the season started. Maybe it was necessary to extend the days (of the Russian Cup stage), because not everyone wants to do speed work before the race. Let it be small, but still. Not everyone wants to come and do a third workout. The format is nice, but, in my opinion, it should have been done earlier,” Serokhvostov told .

In Khanty-Mansiysk, biathletes competed without rifles in the 100-meter elimination ski event. Alexander Kornev won the men’s final and Anna Grukhvina won the women’s final. A shooting tournament is also planned in the future program.
