“We wanted to dress the coaches in a suit so that they understand how cold we are” – biathlete Batmanova

Biathlete Anastasia Batmanova told that she and other athletes in the group Mikhail Shachilov the day before, the idea came up to dress the coaches in overalls so they could feel the cold on the track.

Earlier on Wednesday it became known that the stage of the Russian Cup in Tyumen was canceled due to frost. Coach Mikhail Shachilov’s group decided to hold a control training session instead of a race.

— We wanted to run a sprint today because we were in the mood. At first they reduced the distance for us. But last night we had a discussion about how to communicate that we are cold. The same judges or organizers can leave to warm up and drink tea during the race. We wanted to invite everyone to take off their clothes before the race and accompany us during the reset, during the preparation for the start and during the start. They wanted to invite the coaches to put on a suit and stand with us (laughs). It was the girls’ idea.

— Did you enjoy today’s impromptu mass departure?

— I went to the starting line to do my usual job. It wasn’t a training session for us, it was a start in its own right, because we all ran together. I’m happy with the way I managed the race: I shot well, the girls also worked well on the line. The idea for this launch was good. Everything went well, I’m very happy,” Batmanova told .
