Former skier Anna Grukhvina told that she is not yet psychologically accustomed to biathlon and also needs to learn how to properly distribute her strength over the distance.
Before the start of the preparatory period, Grukhvina switched from cross-country skiing to biathlon. During personal races at the Russian Cup stage in Khanty-Mansiysk, the biathlete failed to make it into the top 30.
— The results of both stages can be described as good. The main thing is that I played and shot at high speed. Of course, we didn’t manage to manage all the moments, but everything went well. I want to shoot, start, try. Filming gives a lot of excitement.
— During the mass start, we managed to achieve the best lap among all the biathletes.
– Well yes, because he didn’t shoot (laughs). According to the rules of a large mass start, the participants are divided into two groups before the first shot: the animators went to the shot, and we moved on. Overall, it’s good that it happened this way (laughs).
— Do you feel an advantage in skiing compared to others?
– No, I don’t feel any advantage, the girls are very strong. So far I can’t show the movement I’m capable of. Psychologically, I am not yet used to biathlon, because I need to learn how to position myself correctly over the distance. It’s a completely different sport. “I’m still getting used to it,” Grukhvina told .
