Norwegian Johannes Boé won gold in the 12.5 km pursuit race at the second stage of the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria.
Boe, who committed a penalty on four stages of shooting, clocked 33 minutes 5.1 seconds.
The second place was taken by another representative of Norway, Johannes Dahle-Skjevdahl (3 misses, delay – 22.6 seconds), and his compatriot Tarjei Boe closed the leading trio (2 misses, +28.4 seconds ). Another Norwegian, Sturla Lægreid, finished fourth (2 penalties, +39.2 seconds).
Later on Saturday, the women’s pursuit race will take place in Hochfilzen.
Russian athletes have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) due to the situation in Ukraine.
