Norway team biathlon won the men’s relay at the World Cup in Hochfilzen, Austria.
The team included Sturla Holm Lægreid, Tarjei Boe, Johannes Boe and Vetle-Sjastad Christiansen. The French finished second (Eric Perrault, Emilien Jacquelin, Fabien Claude, Quentin Fillon Maillet), the leading trio was completed by the German team, represented by David Zobel, Johannes Kühn, Philippe Navrat and Benedikt Doll.
Norwegian biathletes supported their teammates’ success by winning the women’s relay. The team represented Juni Arnekleive, Marit Ishol Skogan, Caroline Knotten and Ingrid Tandrevold. The silver medals were won by the Swedes with the finisher Elvira Oeberg, the bronze was won by the French team, for which Julia Simon competed at the final stage.
Daria Virolainen , who made the transition from Russia to the Finnish team, competed for the team in the second stage of the race. The 34-year-old took over in 10th and maintained his position, but the Finnish deficit increased from one minute to two.
Russians are not allowed to compete under the auspices of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) due to the situation in Ukraine.
