Russian biathlete Edward Latypov told how during the World Cup races he tried to stay behind the Frenchman Martin Fourcade to learn his technique.
— At one time, I traveled a lot for Martin Fourcade. He was even tense because I was constantly following him, he kept turning around. I tried to copy Martin’s technique, to feel his strengths, to understand how he changes at a distance, thanks to which he maintains not only the speed of running, but also of shooting, how he breathes, how he approaches line. The strong points are still visible. Another question is that it is not always possible to understand how a person achieves certain indicators.
He moves a little slower on the line than the other guys, especially in the prone position. If I’m not mistaken, it fired for about 28-30 seconds. I think that’s why I always tried to start working earlier than my rivals,” Latypov said in an interview with RT.
