The second stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Biathlon Cup begins in Ufa on Friday, December 15.

The race start protocol included 73 biathletes from Russia and Belarus. Russian participants in the sprint include three-time Olympic medalist Eduard Latypov, as well as Said Khalili, Alexander Povarnitsyn, Maxim Tsvetkov, Daniil Serokhvostov, Vasily Tomshin, Anton Babikov, Kirill Bazhin, Alexander Loginov, Evgeniy Garanichev and the winner of the first stage, the Belarusian Anton Smolsky.
In the sprint race in Sochi, Smolsky clocked 24 minutes 46.6 seconds, without making any mistakes on the shooting range. He is ahead of Povarnitsyn (+48.2, 2 misses) and Nikita Porshnev (+52.8, 1 miss).
Also on Friday there will be a women’s sprint race, which will start at 12:00 (Moscow time).
