Biathlete Lyubov Kalinina said that the victory in shooting duels in the prologue before the stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Ufa allows him to feel more confident in the main competitions.
Kalinina from the “Chuck-Chuck Norris” team won the women’s category of the competition on Thursday; in the final, she defeated Anastasia Shevchenko, who represents the “One Right” team.
—Did you think you would be the first in this business?
– Honestly no. I tried not to think about it, I just focused on my actions.
— What is the main thing in dueling shooting?
– It is the ability to calm down. I did not prepare this prologue separately. I just like to shoot quickly.
— They give 50,000 for a victory, is that a good prize money?
– Yes, very good. This format is very interesting. It doesn’t feel like a race, but it’s also very exciting, we try to win. It’s very nice to be the first in such competitions.
— Doesn’t that distract you from the main departures? Or is it a good warm-up?
– Good warm-up. You are properly distracted, which is very good: you can unload before the main competitions. It’s great that we all have such different teams: in life we represent different regions, but here we are together. It’s very cool to be in the same team, for example, with Eduard Latypov or Liza Kaplina.
– How good is this training for tomorrow’s sprint?
“I think this tournament allowed me to calm down, and the victory gives me confidence,” reports the correspondent of , according to Kalinina’s words.
