Russian national team biathlete Ekaterina Noskova told that many people were grateful to him and Natalia Gerbulova who raised the problem of staying in a hotel at the Ufa stadium.
On Tuesday, several videos appeared on the GERGONOSKUDISKA Telegram channel, headed by Noskova, Gerbulova and other biathletes from Artem Istomin’s group, in which athletes complained about living conditions in a local hotel. One of the videos also showed the number of the Krasnoyarsk Territory team. Afterwards, Gerbulova announced that she had moved to another hotel.
The director of the Ufa sports complex, coach of the Bashkortostan biathlon team, Viktor Nikitin, previously told that all biathletes were warned about the repair work on the territory of the complex, only the athletes of the group from Istomin had questions.
—Has this situation with Natasha been released? Was this a concern for you during the sprint?
“I won’t say I was very concerned at all, because I think we did everything right in raising this issue.” Many were unhappy with these conditions; people were just afraid to say something. They are afraid of condemnation and criticism, but we were not afraid to do it. There were a lot of people who were grateful to us, a lot of people who supported us. Well, just yesterday people came in saying the rooms were cold, so they’re buying heaters themselves.
— Is it true that the day after the video was published, they cleaned your room? So to speak, it is indicative.
“I don’t know, but there have been times when the cleaners have come to us and said, ‘Well, is there any dust here?’ There is no dust here. » I said, “There is no dust, because we wiped it away. Look under the beds. »
– You moved, didn’t you?
– Yes. Thank you very much to those who helped us move. I don’t know who helped, but I’m grateful. The hotel has excellent conditions and very hospitable people.
— Did you immediately manage to understand why you didn’t go there?
— To my knowledge, they have provided a certain number of places. I don’t know on what principle they were resettled, but initially only three people from our team were supposed to live there. We were told we would live at the stadium. “Okay,” we said. We arrived at the stadium and such were the conditions there. If places are found, then they exist,” Noskova told .
On Friday, Gerbulova took 10th place in the sprint of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup stage, Noskova became 13th.
