Biathletes of Mikhail Shachilov’s team showed an impressive result in the sprint at the stage of the Commonwealth Cup in Ufa, but this is due to many different factors, group coach Andrei Padin told .
Tamara Derbusheva won the sprint. Belarusian Anna Sola took second place. Victoria Slivko, who became third, was preparing for the season in the team of the Tyumen region, but according to Padin’s plans. A total of five biathletes from Mikhail Shachilov’s group took part in the flower ceremony.
— Five of the six biathletes who finished in the top 6 are yours. How can you explain that?
“I’m not questioning which ones are ours, it’s just that we’re working closely with these athletes this season. Of course, the result is impressive, as we showed decent distance speed and good shooting. Well, the girls missed the competitions: some were really looking forward to the races in Tyumen, but they did not take place. We are reaping the rewards of our summer training.
-What is the next objective? Take the whole top 6?
– Such a goal is not worth it. The main task is to get to the start and win. Today, 51 women took the start and I don’t think anyone has set themselves such a task. The result is made up of components, and there are many: performance over distance, performance of the ski thanks to the serve, shooting, cartridges. As the weather is freezing, there must be a high quality cartridge. Well, and much more. We develop this during training, and it also comes with experience.
– Tamara Derbusheva – a car?
– I wouldn’t say that. A car is an elastic concept. She is doing very well at the start of the season. I would say this is the best start to the sports season, because she shows confidence in shooting and her distance speed has increased,” Padin told .
