Russian biathlete Anastasia Egorova said that due to weather conditions she could not see the target on the last firing line during the pursuit race at the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup stage in Ufa.
Egorova took sixth place in the pursuit, having made two mistakes at the fourth shooting range, Tamara Derbusheva won. Previously, the results of the men’s pursuit were revised due to the fact that Russian biathlete Pyotr Pashchenko shot at the target of Belarusian Dmitry Lazovsky.
– Lazovsky situation – Pashchenko. Have you ever been in such situations?
— I have not been in such situations. But I got to the last shot and I didn’t see the target, I shot randomly, the target was covered, I didn’t see it. It was either sun or frost, my eyes were frozen, I tried to blink, but it didn’t help, so there were mistakes. I also ended up there randomly. It was probably luck. I could have hit all five, but I didn’t see the target.
The start of the season was difficult, we came down from Col Seminsky, I didn’t really digest the load. Now I’m starting to run away, everything is still ahead. The mood for the next race is positive, I hope for a shot and a good shot,” Egorova said on .
