Biathlete Anastasia Goreeva spoke about the progress of the mass start at the second stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup in Ufa.
Goreeva took sixth place in Sunday’s mass start, making three errors. Victoria Slivko was the first to overcome the distance, Anastasia Egorova took silver, and Natalya Gerbulova finished third.
“I’m in excellent condition, but at the finish line, I miscalculated my strength. I thought that on the steep climb the girls had unhooked me, but they held on to me with all their teeth and strength, I was already exhausted. I understood that at the end of the day, I’m not a fighter, and any athlete would treat me like that, because I’m more of a distance runner than a sprinter. We had to run away from them earlier,” Goreeva said on .
