Medalist at the Biathlon World Championships Nikita Porshnev announced that he would participate in the Russian Championship in Tchaikovsky.
On December 1, Porshnev took 106th place in the sprint of the second stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk. After the race, the 27-year-old biathlete, who was not part of the Russian national team, told that he had decided to end his professional career. Later, the RBU press service announced that the biathlete would return to competition after a “short break”. The athlete’s personal trainer, Sergei Belozerov, said that Porshnev is recovering from sinusitis and is likely to come to the training camp in Izhevsk on January 3.
“I will start competing at the Russian Championship in Tchaikovsky,” Porshnev wrote on his Telegram channel.
The tournament will take place from January 11 to January 14, 2024.
