President of Russia Vladimir Poutine approved a list of instructions following a meeting of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports.
These include the creation of training centers for the Russian national biathlon, cycling and speed skating teams in the Sverdlovsk region.
— The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Government of the Sverdlovsk region and with the participation of state corporations, state corporations and joint stock companies with state participation, ensures the creation in the Sverdlovsk region of sports training centers for the preparation of sports teams of the Russian Federation in biathlon, cycling (in the group of disciplines “track” “) and speed skating, providing for progressive financing of relevant activities at the levels federal and regional from 2025, as well as attracting extra-budgetary sources for these purposes,” says the text of the order on the Kremlin website.
In addition, the Government of the Russian Federation was tasked, together with the Government of the Primorsky Territory, to ensure the creation on Russky Island and in the city of Vladivostok of centers of martial arts, sports and rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, swimming, boxing, a tennis academy and an athletics arena as part of the federal sports training center for the preparation of sports teams of the Russian Federation.
